Wednesday, April 22, 2020, Representative Swanson sent a letter to Governor Greg Abbott to call for reopening of day programs for individuals with special needs in Texas. In her letter, Representative Swanson stressed that lack of access to day programs has created “extreme hardship” for parents of medically fragile and developmentally disabled children and urged the Governor’s Task Force to consider reopening these programs.
