AUSTIN – Speaker Dade Phelan (R-Beaumont) announced committee assignments for the 87th Legislature today. Representative Valoree Swanson was appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Committee on Juvenile Justice and Family Issues, as a returning member of the Committee on Elections, and as a new member of the Committee on Resolutions.
With Representative Swanson’s extensive experience in elections and election law, she has made election integrity a priority of her tenure in office. Now in her third term, she is very excited about the chances of real reform this session under her good friend and Freedom Caucus colleague, Rep. Briscoe Cain (R-Deer Park).
